Alice Peragine: PLEASE HOLD THE LINE – THANK YOU (FOR HOLDING)

“Diese sechsstündige call-in TV-Show ging in Zusammenarbeit mit Leon Daniel (technische Konzeption) und Xenia Taniko (Performance) Ende Februar 2021 auf Sendung – live online sowie auf dem Screen im Fenster der Lothringer 13 Halle. Die Performance war Teil des Ausstellungsprojekts EXHAUSTER – Construction Site-specific Installation from the Carbon-induced Confusion Series.

Im Zentrum von Alice Peragines künstlerischer Arbeit steht das ambivalente Verhältnis zwischen Technologien, Umweltbedingungen und Körpern. In ihren Rauminstallationen, Videos und Performances untersucht sie die Abhängigkeitsverhältnisse zwischen technischen Entwicklungen und ihren ökologischen sowie sozialen Auswirkungen. Peragines Interesse gilt dabei insbesondere Materialien und Medien, deren Funktionen in direkter Beziehung zum menschlichen Körper stehen wie Schutzkleidung, medizinische Applikationen und smarte Technologien.”

This six-hour call-in TV show went on air at the end of February 2021 in collaboration with Leon Daniel (technical concept) and Xenia Taniko (performance) — live online and on screen in the window of Lothringer 13 Halle. The performance was part of the exhibition project EXHAUSTER—Construction Site-specific Installation from the Carbon-induced Confusion Series.

Alice Peragine’s artistic work focuses on the ambivalent relationship between technologies, environmental conditions, and bodies. In her room installations, videos, and performances, she examines the interdependencies between technical developments and their ecological and social impacts. Peragine is particularly interested in materials and media whose functions are directly related to the human body, such as protective clothing, medical applications, and smart technologies.”
